Army Materiel Command Sgt. Maj. visits SSC
NATICK, Mass. -- Command Sgt. Maj. Daniel Elder of the Army Materiel Command (AMC) visited the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center (SSC) on Dec. 5 and 6. His visit included several briefings from tenant organizations, as well as stops in the Parachute Shop, the Doriot Climatic Chambers, and the Biomechanics Laboratory. He also attended a 3-D Imaging demonstration and a combat ration sampling. Along the way, he talked to several Soldiers and civilian employees, inquiring into their duties and backgrounds.
"This is the center of gravity in so many areas for supporting the warfighter now and in the future," said Elder. "I feel I can do my job even better if I meet the people firsthand. This gave me the opportunity to observe testing as well as research and development activities up close. I can then take the message back out to the field about how what you do here is key to helping Soldiers."
